The Nomad is a tablet designed for a variety of scenarios. Basically, the system is marketed as a waterproof and rugged tablet with four speakers, making it a mobile device suitable for music playback. It is also compatible with CarPlay, which means that the model can be used not only for in-car entertainment but also to display navigation instructions.
According to the manufacturer, the best scenario for music playback is a battery life of over 20 hours, while videos can be played for over 5 hours. As
Android is the installed operating system, there are no limitations on media formats or content; Not only is playback possible from content saved locally or on a microSD card, but apps from various streaming service providers can also be installed.
The 8-inch touchscreen is said to have HD resolution and 900 cd/m² brightness Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 is installed as the SoC. The volume can be easily adjusted using accessible buttons. Different holders are available, for example for the shower or the cup holder.
The Nomad is currently being offered on the site for a starting price of $249 as part of a crowdfunding campaign and is expected to begin shipping in February 2025. As always, crowdfunding campaigns always carry financial risk, although the Kickstarter campaigns only charge supporters if the funding is successful. If you don’t want to wait, we recommend taking a look at other CarPlay screens on Amazon, some of which are significantly cheaper.
