Initially scheduled for release this year, the sequel to this management game was ultimately postponed to a later date, led by Rockstar alumni.

Build your own prison!

On August 10, we learned that it was postponed again: Prison Architect 2, sequel to the very popular Prison Architect released in 2015 . Initially developed by Introversion Software until 2019, the project was then taken over by Double Eleven Studio, founded by former Rockstar developers.

A first part which, as said previously, will have succeeded in getting everyone to agree: this management game which consists of building, as its name suggests, your own prison thanks to different infrastructures such as a canteen, an infirmary, a courtyard or an electric generator. You will also need to recruit staff such as guards, psychologists, judges, etc.

As you play, you will unlock other options allowing you to improve your prison and monitor your prisoners who may rebel or escape, a first part which already proves to be very complete, especially for an indie game developed at the time (as previously mentioned) by Introversion Software, which was founded in 2001 by three friends: Chris Delay, Mark Morris and Thomas Arundel. The second part, for its part, will focus on 3D graphics and an even more advanced concept than originally.

A sequel planned for when?

However, this sequel, we have no idea when it will be released. Normally, the game was scheduled to arrive on September 3, but was postponed indefinitely. A report that can be scary, because it is the third. A decision taken by the game's publisher, Paradox Interactive, who wants to give the developer time to refine everything.

“We have some bad news to tell you: unfortunately, we will not be releasing Prison Architect 2 on September 3 because we need more time to improve both the performance of the game and its content (…) We still need to improve the quality a little to reach the standards we would like to achieve with this suite » – Paradox Interactive
