Will you recover a small Windows 11 bug? But yes, we insist. Either way, it’s not like you really have a choice. It seems that every update brings up a more or less annoying problem. At the same time, we are barely a month after the arrival of Windows 11 24H2, the big annual update of the operating system. With all the changes it brings, many bugs were inevitable.

Some are particularly impactful, like the one that crashes several applications. The one in question here is fortunately not one of those. In fact, it is so discreet that you probably missed it even though it has been present on your computer for several days. This is exactly what happened to us in the editorial office. It occurs after the update KB5044384dated October 25 with us, and concerns the Task Manager.

This Windows 11 bug is very discreet, check if you are affected

After installing October 2024 Update (KB5044384), users will encounter an issue where the number of Applications, Background Processes, and Windows Processes in Task Manager shows a count of zerodespite the existence of active applications running. Normally, Task Manager displays the number of processes next to each group name […]which allows users to have a quick view of active processes“, explains Microsoft. Demonstration below.

The good news is that the bug does not affect the performance or operation of the machine in any way. It’s just a simple display problem.. Of course, if you for some reason need to know the exact number of processes running on your PC, you’re good to count by hand the time until a patch is deployed. The Redmond firm is already working on it.
