Several OEMs (Android) have adopted the compact trend in their fresh new new flagships however, to say that RedMagic is not one of them would be an understatement.
Indeed, Nubia’s high-end smartphone brand is reportedly moving in the opposite direction, with a 9 Pro moving to ascreen“high resolution” about 7 inches 7 inches (instead of the usual Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra-) diagonally.
Furthermore, its first sibling Ultra (expected to supplant the traditional Pro Plus as RedMagic’s new flagship later in 2024) could be even bigger.
However, a compromise may have been made to achieve this size: it appears that RedMagic has forgone its true edge-to-edge, no-hole design in favor of a larger space in the flat screen of its next flagship.
It’s almost a shame, because the under-display camera (UDC) behind it is supposed to have reached a new height in Nubia’s next cellphone, the Z70 Ultra.
Furthermore, RedMagic’s alleged divergence could allow it to take better advantage of the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Snapdragon 8 Elite in other ways.
The“full screen” RedMagic 9S Pro is now available on Amazon
