Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 Special Edition may not benefit from UDC technology to minimize the visibility of screen creases

Samsung has now officially begun teasing what appears to be the release of the highly anticipated Galaxy Z Fold6 Special Edition. Unsurprisingly, leakers continue to speculate about the device’s specifications, even though much of its hardware has already been revealed in a series of leaks over the past few months.

This time, @TheGalox_ and @UniverseIce made a pretty big statement regarding the device’s internal camera. For the record, Samsung used the Z Fold Galaxy to introduce the Under-Display Camera (UDC) of the Galaxy Z Fold3 (currently $439 – renewed on Amazon). This also means that Samsung has installed the same 4 MP camera in every Galaxy Z Fold released since then, including the Galaxy Z Fold6.

Additionally, rumors have been circulating that Samsung will use the Galaxy Z Fold6 Special Edition to introduce a new 5 MP internal camera and Ultra Flexible Glass (UFG). As a reminder, the latter is intended to replace ultra-thin glass (UTG) in order to minimize the creases of the device screen minimize the crease of the device screen. However, it seems that this improvement in camera and foldable glass could come at the expense of UDC technology.

As a result, @TheGalox_ and @UniverseIce now believe that the Galaxy Z Fold6 Special Edition will be the first in the series since the Galaxy Z Fold2 to launch with a conventional punch-hole camera inside its large foldable display. Currently, Samsung is expected to officially unveil the Galaxy Z Fold6 Special Edition in China and South Korea on October 21.
