When we talk about Xiaomi, we usually think first of its smartphones. The Chinese manufacturer, however, has an extremely varied catalog of tech products, ranging from robot vacuum cleaners to headphones, including connected watches, televisions and even… air compressors. Xiaomi has in any case just unveiled a new version, which should arrive here soon.

An inflator pro

After the Xiaomi Portable Electric Air Compressor 2, here is not a third generation, but the Xiaomi Portable Electric Air Compressor 2 Pro. This model is in any case displayed on the manufacturer’s global website. We can only hope for availability in later.

On paper, this Pro version is intended to be more efficient, durable and precise than the classic model. Designed to inflate car or bicycle tires or even smaller objects, the Xiaomi Portable Electric Air Compressor 2 has three 2,500 mAh batteries, compared to two 2,000 mAh batteries for the non-Pro version. Enough to completely inflate almost four tires (compared to 2.5 previously). In the case of partial re-inflation, the manufacturer is talking about 16 tires, compared to 10. Charging is always done via USB-C.

More durable therefore, the product is also faster and capable of delivering a maximum pressure (PSI) of 150 bars. Xiaomi talks about 45 seconds needed to re-inflate a 205 tire from 2 to 2.5 Bar (or 3.5 minutes starting from zero). It takes the previous model about two minutes to do this (or about eight minutes). Fortunately, automatic pressure detection to stop in time is there.

A pressure and light show

Visual indicators have also been added to monitor the progress of swelling, while white (to see in the dark) and red (to alert in the event of an emergency) lights are offered. The accessories are the same as before, with an additional high pressure air hose extension.

There remains the question of price. The model currently sold in France is priced at €60. The Pro version is currently only offered in China at 299 CNY, or around €39. There is no doubt that once the borders are crossed, this price will be revised upwards.
