what’s new for the new major version of the app?

The famous cleaning and security software CleanMyMac the tool embraces simplicityboth in terms of the name (from now on simply call it CleanMyMac), and in terms of the interface. Let’s take a quick overview of the main new features of this major update.

New interface

CleanMyMac simplifies its menus. Instead of the 14 menus visible on the left toolbar in CleanMyMac X, the new version of the software only displays 5.

Overall, everything is more airy and clearer, which is very appreciable. It is also easier to access for novices and more reassuring.

Redesigned main features

Here are the 5 major tools of CleanMyMac now:

• Smart maintenance: launches a full scan of the Mac. Consolidates all analyzes into one somehow
• Cleaning: allows you to detect files that are unnecessary for the proper functioning of your machine and therefore regain disk space
• Protection : Powerful malware detector also shows which applications have access to the Mac’s microphone and camera

• Performances : analyzes the Mac’s background processes and offers the possibility of disabling some of them

• Applications : simply uninstall and/or update your applications

• My unnecessary files: the perfect tool to get rid of anything that takes up too much space on the disk (screenshots, duplicate documents, identical photos, files that are too large, etc.)

Note that CleanMyMac X was notably not able to detect duplicates as this new version does, as well as screenshots.

Finally, in addition to the new features described below, you should know that CleanMyMac has a new Moonlock malware analysis tool and a monitor for the Mac’s battery status.
