The comet of the century visible in the Berry sky

Several readers were able to capture a photo, from the Cher, Tsuchinshan-Atlas, the comet of the century.

Comet Tsuchinshan-Atlas did not go unnoticed by our readers. It is observable with the naked eye everywhere in , from Saturday October 12, until the end of this week, just after sunset.

Passionate about astronomy, Audrey managed to freeze, on Sunday evening, on her iPhone, from Plaimpied-Givaudins, this so-called comet of the century. “I started looking just above sunset. I have an app that allows you to find names of stars, planets, constellations. The comet was drawn just above the constellation Serpent . It helped me.”

Audrey looked at the entire sky:

“I saw a slight white streak which gave magnificent photos in night mode on my iPhone, it was a beautiful moment.”

“Bright comets a little visible to the naked eye”: here’s where to observe Tsuchinshan-Atlas this weekend

At 8:20 p.m. the comet was visible. “But you really have to look for it to find it!” explains Audrey. “This evening, I plan to watch it in the same place. It is at the peak of its luminosity.”

Alexander was also able to photograph the Tsuchinshan-Atlas comet. It’s a bit of a coincidence. While taking his dog out at Avord, along the railway line, he looked up at the right moment. “I knew there was a possibility of observing it. After sunset, I saw it.” But by the time she went to pick up her children to see her, “it was already over.” Alexandre tried his luck again this Monday evening with his children.
