After L’amour ouf, Adèle Exarchopoulos in a futuristic film, presented at the closing of the Festival: Cinema and series

After 6 days of competition and previews, the 13th edition of the International Independent Film Festival (FIFIB) presented its prize list, and offered its festival-goers the opportunity to discover “Planète B”, with Adèle Exarchopoulos.

French genre and feminine cinema had a special place at the Bordeaux International Independent Film Festival (FIFIB) which was held last week.

After Les Femmes au balcon by Noémie Merlant, presented at the opening, a highlight dedicated to Coralie Fargeat with the presentation of The Substance and Revenge, the FIFIB closed with the French preview of a futuristic film with a very beautiful casting: Adèle Exarchopoulos and Souheila Yacoub.

Planète B, that’s its title, is written and directed by Aude Léa Rapin. The pitch is presented as follows: , 2039. One night, activists hunted by the State disappear without leaving any trace. Julia Bombarth is among them. When she wakes up, she discovers herself locked in a completely unknown world: PLANET B.

The feature film, which will be released in France on December 25, had its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival last September.

Previously, we will be able to see Adèle Exarchopoulos in a very different register, headlining L’amour ouf, with François Civil. L’amour ouf comes out this Wednesday, October 16.

Highly anticipated films in previews

Numerous out-of-competition previews were also offered to festival-goers: Their children after them by Ludovic and Zoran Boukherma, Miséricorde by Alain Guiraudie, Animale by Emma Benestan, Diamant Brut by Agathe Reidinger, and Les Reines du Drama by ‘Alexis Langlois. The public responded to these sessions, which were often full.

As usual, the FIFIB was an opportunity to discover gems in preview, such as According to Joy by Camille Lugan, Bonjour l’Asile by Judith Davis, or even, on the short film side, Amelia Starlight by Laure Thomassaint, and At high tide by Camille Fleury.

The FIFIB has the particularity of having a Contraband section, dedicated to films without a distributor in France. The prize list could give a boost to some of these feature or short films.
