Everwild: development would go well, the gameplay loop would have been developed | Xbox

Among the many Arlesians announced by Xbox is obviously Everwild, a project announced by Rare at the end of 2019 as part of the very last X019 conference. After appearing on video one last time during the Xbox Games Showcase 2020, the title has no longer really been talked about, apart from rumors in the corridors which are not always reassuring.

The development of Everwild would be fine, the gameplay loop would have been developed

Jez Corden, journalist at Windows Central, once again shared a few words about the development of Everwild, which would go well. While the game would have undergone a complete reboot following the departure of the creative director in 2020, the gameplay loop would have finally been developed.

I heard that Everwild development is going well. They nailed the gameplay loop, and we should see that in the future.

It is of course appropriate to take this information with a grain of salt. Earlier in the year, Jez Corden had already stated that development would still be underway and that the project had not been canceled in any way. Note also that at the end of 2023, Rare shared an image in which Everwild was explicitly present, logically suggesting that development was still in progress.

In 2023, Andy Robinson of VGC revealed that Everwild would be a radically different title from what had been presented on video. Rare’s new software would be more akin to Viva Piñata, another franchise from the British studio published from 2006. Let’s hope that the title won’t take too long to show itself again.
