WhatsApp continues to deploy features to improve its use on iOS. Recently, the app introduced the ability to share the screen with audio during video calls, giving users a valuable tool for collaborating or giving presentations in real time. Another major development, messaging has also integrated passkeys, allowing users to connect more easily to the app without a password, simply using Face ID or Touch ID for added security and convenience.

In the same dynamic of improvement, WhatsApp now introduces new options for the play videos. With version 24.20.78, iPhone users will be able to choose between three speeds : normal, 1.5x and 2x. This feature will speed up videos, particularly useful for saving time on longer content. The speed control is easily accessible, positioned right next to the progress bar.

WhatsApp on iOS now allows you to speed up videos and watch them in “picture-in-picture” mode

Besides the new speed options, WhatsApp also offers a feature picture in picture. The latter allows continue watching a video while navigating other conversations or apps. This functionality allows it to be resized and moved on the screen, thus ensuring great flexibility in using the application. You will be able, for example, to follow content while responding to your messages, all without interrupting your activity.
