League of Legends players can be proud to be part of their community; on average, they have a higher IQ than many other players!

A study cross-referenced the intelligence quotients of 1,002 players to reveal the game that features the highest IQ community. The titles affected are software such as League of Legends, GTA 5, Black Myth: Wukong, Baldur’s Gate 3, FC24, Rocket League and many others (20 in total). The IQ tests were administered online by psychologists. Four cognitive skills were tested: “verbal expression, mathematics, logic and visual reasoning” (source: WhichBingothe company that initiated the investigation).

Games “focused on strategy and role play » present “higher IQ scores”. We find in the lot the players of League of Legends in top 1 (120.4 IQ points) followed by those of Black Myth: Wukong (119.8 IQ points), and then the players of Baldur’s Gate 3 in top 3 with 117.9 points in average IQ. At the opposite extreme of this ranking is the community of FIFA 23 and FC24, the latter averaging 89.8 IQ points. As an indication, the average IQ score in France is 100 points, 50% of the population would be between 90 and 100 IQ points. The survey goes further since it also focuses on the intersection between gaming support and IQ and between women and men. Here are the results below!

Results to be taken lightly

Be careful not to be too proud of being in the top 3 of the most intelligent players because this “study” should be taken with a pinch of salt.
