The year 2024 was placed under the sign of artificial intelligence, and Apple is no exception. The Apple brand presented Apple Intelligence at length during its conference last June. This new option brings together all the features using artificial intelligence.
A first part of Apple Intelligence will arrive on compatible iPhones in the coming weeks, with the deployment of iOS 18.1. But this is only a first step. Indeed, certain features will wait a little longer before arriving on our iPhones. This is particularly the case for Image Playground, Genmoji and Image Wand.
These three new options should arrive during the month of December, when iOS 18.2 is released to the general public. Please note, however, that the arrival of these options should not concern us in France. Apple is still negotiating with the European Commission on the launch of Apple Intelligence on the old continent. The feature will not arrive before 2025.
How does it work?
Concretely, these three new options use Apple’s artificial intelligence to create images or emojis from scratch. Regarding Image Playgroud, the functionality should even have the right to its own application on compatible iPhones.
In a few words (with a prompt), it will be possible to generate an image. The feature will be integrated into apps like Messages, Pages, Keynote and Freeform. Apple has an API in place so that third-party apps can use this feature to their advantage.
But the arrival of iOS 18.2 also marks the arrival of Genmoji. As its name suggests, this option allows you to create emojis in your image. It is possible to mix several or create a completely new one. The only limits to this feature are our imagination.
Finally, the third feature that should arrive with iOS 18.2 is Image Wand. This option will be part of the iPhone’s Notes app. Concretely, all you have to do is circle a diagram or a hand-made sketch, and Apple transforms it into a beautiful colorful image.
