The improved Sleep Apnea section, the enriched Control Center, new notifications… the iOS 18.1 update brings its share of new features.
Apple will launch iOS 18.1 on October 28 in the United States. Unfortunately, in Europe, we will have to be a little more patient. However, we can already get a glimpse of some new features. Here are the main ones.
New features in the Control Center and Notification Center
Commands for Satellite and AirDrop can be placed in the Control Center. Satellite and AirDrop can therefore be directly accessible via individual buttons. Practical in terms of accessibility.
To do this, simply press and hold the control screen for a few seconds and access the connectivity screen. Then, click on “Add an order”, and scroll down to the Connectivity tab.
Note also that a small counter appears on all applications installed on the iPhone. Located at the top right of an app, this counter simply shows all the notifications you’ve missed. At a glance, it will therefore be possible to know whether you are up to date or not.
The sleep apnea section is getting better
Apple plans to make the Sleep Apnea section more efficient in order to better detect this problem which affects many people. Several new steps will be added in order to provide a more reliable assessment.
Furthermore, it will soon be mandatory to spend 10 consecutive nights in order to activate the functionality.
The ability to stream Apple Music tracks directly to TikTok
Apple Music will soon allow its users to stream Apple Music songs directly to TikTok. To do this, nothing could be simpler. Simply click on the “Share Song” button and select TikTok from the different options provided.
Finally, let’s note a few other new features. In the Wallet app, if your Daily Cash goes to a savings account, your savings account balance will no longer appear on the main Apple Card screen. To access it, you will now have to press the savings button.
In addition, the different start screens will highlight the new Apple Intelligence features in a multitude of applications.
As a reminder, the few new features that we have just mentioned will therefore be part of the list of 250 new features of iOS 18.
