Pink October: in , UBO health relay students are committed to raising awareness

Like every year, the Faculty of Medicine is committed to Pink October, a global campaign intended to raise awareness among women about breast cancer screening and to raise funds for research. Roxane Gogée, prevention officer at the Student Health Service and the health relay student team (ERS) offer prevention actions on the Brest university campus. “This year, we are organizing a sidewalk microphone directly with UBO students in order to question them and raise awareness about Pink October,” explains Roxane Gogée. We contacted local players such as Halte au cancer, an association based at the Pasteur clinic which modernizes places in order to improve the daily lives of cancer patients at the hospital.”

Good feedback

And the feedback from students on their actions is good. “Many of them did not yet know about the student health service. By proposing actions in the different components, we were able to raise awareness among a good number of students,” assures the prevention officer.
