Processor for entry-level gaming laptops

Intel is preparing to update its range of CPU Raptor Lake with a new generation aimed at entry-level and mainstream gaming laptops. Innovation will mainly focus on the non-ultra 200 series models.

New Intel Core 7 250H chip: Improved performance

Among the new references, the Core 7 250H stands out thanks to a configuration of 14 hearts et 20 threads. This processor includes 6 P cores et 8 cores Edelivering performance that rivals that of the popular Core i7-13800H. With a base frequency of 2,50 GHz and a boost reaching 5,20 GHzit promises solid processing capabilities.

Performance on the Geekbench 6 benchmark is impressive, with a single-threaded score of 2415 points and a multi-threaded score of 13,201 points. This level of performance is comparable to the Core i7-13800H, although results may vary depending on the thermal and power configuration of different laptops.

An option for the budget and the general public

The MSI Katana 15, equipped with Core 7 250His also equipped with a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050thus targeting the entry-level segment. The Raptor Lake Refresh update suggests a clear intention to serve the mainstream sector while reserving CPUs Core Ultra for performance-oriented designs.

The price difference between the Non-Ultra and Ultra models will be significant, which could impact consumers’ purchasing choices. It is therefore crucial to ensure the configuration of the laptop before investing, as performance can vary significantly.
