we tested Nivea treatments which promise to reduce the appearance of stretch marks

Ana, 25 years old, journalist, is a fan of beauty and care products of all kinds, she never goes out without lipstick and is always looking for new products to take care of her curls.

Nivea anti-stretch mark cream and serum oil 7/10

Having had stretch marks for several years now on my buttocks, I regularly apply oils designed specifically for these streaks which form on the skin when it is stretched too quickly following hormonal changes, weight gain or loss or another pregnancy. After such an event, the collagen fibers break and cause the appearance of stretch marks which look like cracks first purple and then white. I have always heard that once white, stretch marks will no longer move, that it will be impossible to get rid of them. Little by little, I learned to accept them, while taking care of this area with suitable products. But when the German brand Nivea released these new products supposed to reduce the appearance of stretch marks, even white ones, I immediately wanted to try them.

Quality/Price

Like all Nivea products, the Anti-Stretch Mark Cream and Oil-Serum are extremely hydrating products that leave the skin feeling nourished with each application. Both products contain a formula with LUMINOUS 630, a patented ingredient that evens skin tone and reduces the appearance of stretch marks and spots. If both are as gentle as the other, the cream promises 48 hours of hydration. For our part, we applied the cream every evening for a month then the oil every evening for a month in order to test the two products optimally. Indeed, according to the brand, the effectiveness is visible after 4 weeks with daily application.

Verdict? My stretch marks are obviously still there, but they are a little less visible. The LUMINOUS 630 formula acts as an agent that balances natural melanin production to soften the contrast between stretch marks and skin, which is believed to give this less visible effect. Price-wise, both products last a very long time since we still have several months left, so the prices are reasonable: €14.99 for the cream (200ml) and €17.99 for the oil-serum (100ml).

Texture/Odor

Every evening, applying one of the two Nivea products has become a ritual that I particularly appreciate. The cream is creamy and easily penetrates the skin for extremely rich hydration. For its part, the oil leaves an ultra-pleasant moisturizing film on the skin. Both have a very comforting clean smell that is found throughout the Nivea range. Simply apply the product generously to the affected areas then massage in a circular manner until absorbed.

The little extras

  • Hydration is optimal with both cream and oil, the skin is nourished and regains elasticity in these areas.
  • The products keep the promise of somewhat reducing the appearance of stretch marks, especially when touched. My skin is a little more even and smooth.
  • The format of the products is well thought out, the quantity lasts for months and the packaging allows for easy application. Even the oil that I was afraid of overdosing on is contained in a bottle with a super practical opening.
  • Only one application is necessary per day.
  • These products also serve to prevent the appearance of new stretch marks thanks to their nourishing action.

The little minuses

  • I admit that I expected more visible results. Although the stretch marks are slightly reduced to the touch because my skin is smoother, the before and after is not really obvious to the eye. Maybe because I tested it during the summer when my skin was very exposed to the sun.

Will I buy these Nivea anti-stretch mark products again?

The products are large formats so they will last me a long time. I will continue to observe the results, if my stretch marks fade further in the following months, I will perhaps repurchase the cream which is ideal for hydrating the affected areas.

The Luminous 630 anti-stretch mark and stain body cream is priced at €14.99 at Di and the Luminous 630 anti-stretch mark and stain body oil-serum is priced at €17.99 at Di. Both products are also available in Carrefour supermarkets or on Amazon.
