E-sport: Swiss players and streamers who dominate in 2024

What does the Swiss e-sport and gaming scene bring together in figures? Exclusively for “20 minutes”, the analytical services Esports Charts and Streams Charts have compiled the most successful Swiss players and streamers in 2023-2024, as well as the most followed local competitions.

First observation: even if certain events, such as the Swisscom Hero League, benefit from “constant commitment”, the country has “not really hosted a major tournament during the last two years”, notes Artyom Odintsov, co-founder and CEO of Esports Charts. The Swiss tournament that was most watched during this period was the 2024 Red Bull Rift Rulers on “Fortnite”, with 10,764 cumulative hours viewed. In comparison, the MSI of “League of Legends”, one of the most followed events in the world in 2024, displays more than 78 million hours viewed on the clock.

Unsurprisingly, it is on the international scene that the best players go to make a name for themselves. Among the Swiss who have accumulated the most earnings since 2023, we find the German-speaking Chap in first place, with 181,604 dollars. This summer, the 15-year-old placed 6th at the Fortnite Champion Series in Texas. The Biel-born Deadshot, who participated in the “R6S” world championships in Brazil this year, occupies 2nd place with 41,368 dollars, while the German-born RigoN, star of “Counter-Strike”, is in 3rd place. with 30,828 dollars. “Despite a limited number of local events, the demand for Swiss talent is very real,” emphasizes Artyom Odintsov.

On the streaming side, the Swiss-born Shlorox, very popular in Germany, dominates the ranking in 2024, with 7.95 million hours viewed. He is followed by the Vaudois Tonton and the Neuchâteloise Baghera Jones, both well known in , with respectively 4.27 million and 1.02 million hours. “Whether for streaming or e-sports, Switzerland’s unique linguistic diversity allows it to reach wider audiences across Europe. The Swiss scene therefore has strong growth potential,” analyzes Artyom Odintsov.
