MacBook Pros with M4 chip could well offer 16 GB of basic RAM if a recent leak is to be believed. Other new features would also be expected in terms of connectivity and the colors offered.

Apple is not expected to revolutionize the formula this year, but a latest leak seems to confirm some notable and welcome new features for the power and versatility of these machines.
16 GB of RAM and three Thunderbolt 4 ports?
A photo of the packaging of a 14-inch MacBook Pro has reportedly been leaked by Twitter user @ShrimpApplePro. Several pieces of information are to be remembered if we are to believe the configuration of this model.
If this is a base model, then this would confirm that Apple has chosen to sell its MacBook Pros with a minimum of 16 GB of RAM. This change had already been mentioned in August by journalist Mark Gurman when the brand had been strongly criticized for still offering Pro models with 8 GB of memory.

Two other new features should be noted. The first is the increase from 8 to 10 CPU cores. The other concerns connectivity with the mention of three Thunderbolt 4 ports instead of just two. Currently, only MacBooks with the M3 Pro chip offer three.
The SPB mention could also indicate that the base MacBook Pro will be offered in Space Black color and not Space Gray as is the case for the M3 models. As a reminder, the last black MacBook dates from 2008…
The reliability of this leak has been debated since this weekend as the box packaging mentions Apple ID, a nomenclature gradually abandoned by the manufacturer recently. However, we note the presence of the QR code to obtain more information, a very recent practice from Apple which dates from the iPhone 16.
We cannot therefore be sure of the veracity of this leak, but we imagine that others should follow between now and the announcement of these future MacBook Pros.
