Valve’s good idea to improve SteamOS and the Steam Deck

Valve has just announced a partnership with Arch Linux, the team behind the Steam Deck interface. A collaboration that should greatly improve users’ gaming experience.

The Steam Deck operating system should improve thanks to the partnership that Valve has just established with Arch Linux, the source of the operating system at the heart of the console. Good news for players.

The Steam Deck is the portable console from the Valve Corporation behind the Steam platform. A true gaming laptop, the console has reshuffled the cards by offering a AAA mobile gaming experience.

To accomplish this feat, the console runs on an operating system titled SteamOS based on Arch Linux. Running under Linux, this OS has been able to open up and find its way against many competing consoles like the ROG Ally. Appreciated for its lightness and the versatility of its interface, the OS should continue to improve thanks to this partnership.

Arch Linux has just announced on its public mailing list the signing of a significant partnership with Valve.
“Valve is generously supporting two critical projects that will have a huge impact on our distribution: a build services infrastructure and a secure signing enclave. »says Levente Polyak for Arch Linux.

By supporting the teams behind Arch Linux, Valve is helping to improve SteamOS to provide a more comprehensive operating system that will benefit them and other consoles on the market. Arch Linux could also benefit from the compatibility work carried out by Valve on Proton, the tool which allows Windows games to be played on Linux. Good news for the democratization of video games.
