Tamron boosts the AF tracking of two of its flagship Sony E-mount zooms

Tamron has just announced a firmware update for two of its flagship lenses for Sony E-mount cameras: the 70-300 mm f/4,5-6,3 Di III RXD and the 18-300 mm f/3,5-6,3 Di III-A VC VXDreleased in 2020 and 2021 respectively. This update promises to “significantly” improve autofocus tracking performanceexcellent news for photographers specializing in dynamic topics such as sport or wildlife.

In addition to improving AF tracking, this update brings support for AF Assist function Sony cameras on video. This feature allows users to easily switch to manual focus mode while keeping autofocus enableda valuable asset for videographers wanting to fine-tune focus on a specific subject after using autofocus.

These v2.0 updates are available for free on the Tamron website. This initiative demonstrates Tamron’s commitment to providing support continu and long-term improvements for its products, for the benefit of its customers.
