Amazon cuts the price of the PlayStation 5 Slim during the French Days

The PlayStation 5 has now been available for almost four years and the shortage is well behind us. There is even a “Slim” model which arrived at the end of 2023 to replace the base model. In this article, find all the offers currently available for Sony PS5s.

Launched at the end of 2020, the PlayStation 5 is still a highly coveted machine. It must be said that the console has surpassed certain historical records for the Japanese brand and today has more than 50 million units sold around the world. Initially set at 499 euros, the price of the PS5 increased during summer 2022 to 549 euros (for the Standard model, and 449 euros for the Digital Edition). That’s not all, Sony has in the meantime launched a PS5 Slim model of its console at the end of 2023, which quite simply replaced the old ones. The prices are the same as previously mentioned, but the promotions are very recurring and we share them with you here.

The best deals for the PS5

At the moment, the best offer for the PS5 Slim Standard is at Amazon, where you can find the Sony console for 489 euros instead of 549 euros thanks to the promo code FD10. The model without a disc player is sold for 389 euros with the same promotional code.

Where to find the PS5 Slim in stock?

The PlayStation 5 Slim is now sold at a price of 549 euros and the Digital Edition version (without Blu-ray player) at 449 euros. In the table below, you will find the list of merchants who offer the PS5 in stock, or even on promotion.

The PS5, a truly next-gen console

The PlayStation 5 is Sony’s latest console, offering a very different design compared to the previous generation, with interchangeable shells, as well as a brand new controller. Gone is the DualShock, now it’s time for the DualSense. This controller better fits the shape of the hands, keeps the analog sticks aligned and above all brings new features, such as adaptive triggers or even haptic vibrations, which represent a real game changer to promote immersion in a game. Battery life is not improved, but the controller recharges much faster than before thanks to its USB-C port.

In terms of the technical sheet, we find a power of 10 TeraFLOPs thanks to AMD’s RDNA 2 architecture, with the possibility of running games up to 8K according to what is displayed on the console box. Regardless, most games at the moment run in 4K at 30 or 60 FPS, or even 120 depending on the titles and if you have a compatible television. This was not available at launch, but the PS5 has since updated to improve visual quality by now allowing VRR (Variable Refresh Rate).

Indeed, everything has been redesigned for the Sony console, right down to the interface, which is completely different from that of the PS4. We see a new sleek design, new community features and above all the integration of the PlayStation Store. The PS+ holds a very special place, since the subscription has evolved into a sort of Game Pass on different levels (Essential/Extra/Premium). It allows you to enjoy a whole library of games, from the PS1 to the PS5, even including the PSP, as well as the possibility of playing in streaming, depending on the titles.

Note also that the Slim models provide more storage than before, since the PS5’s magic SSD is now 1 TB, and not 825 GB. The memory expansion port is still easily accessible to add an SSD M.2 format of your choice, as long as it is compatible and displays a transfer rate of more than 5,500 MB/s (which is recommended by Sony).
