Samsung on Thursday unveiled the Galaxy S24 FE, a more affordable version of its flagship Galaxy S24 series, now available in Switzerland. Priced from 679 Swiss francs for 128 GB, this new model aims to make Galaxy AI features accessible to a wider audience, while getting closer to the performance of the S24 series.
The Galaxy S24 FE stands out for its camera equipment, including a 50 MP wide-angle lens and an 8 MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, both with optical image stabilization (OIS). It also features Samsung’s ProVisual Engine, a first in the FE series, offering an array of AI-based tools to maximize photographic creativity (specifications).

In terms of performance, the S24 FE stands out with its Exynos 2400 chip, compatible with advanced features such as Ray Tracing for gaming. The device benefits from a vapor chamber 1.1 times larger than its predecessor, improving cooling to maintain optimal performance over long periods of time, according to a press release.
The 6.7-inch Amoled display, the largest ever in the FE series, offers an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz for a smooth viewing experience. The 4,700 mAh battery, larger than that of the S23 FE, should allow acceptable autonomy.
AI at the heart of communication
The Galaxy S24 FE inherits Galaxy AI features introduced on the S24 series, such as Circle to Search, Interpreter for simultaneous translation, or Live Translate to break language barriers during calls. These AI tools aim to improve users’ daily communication, productivity and creativity.
In terms of sustainability, Samsung has incorporated a variety of recycled materials into the design of the S24 FE, including plastic, aluminum, glass, and more. The device will benefit from 7 generations of operating system updates and 7 years of security updates, part of a longevity approach.
