Which explains why we make a capsule of it. Kilowatt hour. Note that it only exists in a gasoline version, the TX 350. But there is also a plug-in hybrid version, the TX 500h+.
It comes with a 3.5-liter V6, with an estimated electric range of 53 km. We’ll tell you more about it in a future capsule if we can get our hands on it…
But let’s get back to the TX 500h we have in our hands. This one is equipped with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine with 271 horsepower. But when combined with the electric motor, the whole thing provides a total output of 366 horsepower.
We were able to make a round trip from Quebec to Saint-Jérôme with this vehicle. With the first tank of fuel, we calculated a consumption of 8.1 l/100 km. It went down to 7.9 l/100 km with the second tank. And this, below the ratings published by Lexus which are 8.4 l/100 km on the highway and 8.7 l/100 km in the city.
As for the price, we are in the Lexus brand, so, prepare your calculators. The TX 500h costs $84,200, plus the transport and preparation fees of $2,205 and taxes.
And since it’s a simple hybrid, there’s no government rebate.
