Space Marine 2: Lots of changes coming, Saber takes stock with players | Xbox

After a successful launch with 2 million units sold in the space of 24 hours, Saber Interactive intends to support Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 as it should be. While we already know the contents of the solid roadmap for the first year, the studio also took part in the Q&A exercise to provide some clarity regarding very specific elements.

Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 Year 1: Missions, Modes, Season Pass… the details

Lots of changes coming to Space Marine 2

Saber seems to be very attentive to its community and will make many changes and fixes based on player feedback. Thus, from a first Q&A published by the studio, we have listed all the elements that have been specified on the future of Space Marine 2.

You can find out all you need to know about it below. You can also read the whole article in English at this address.

While waiting for future patches to be deployed, you can already enjoy the game on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC.

  • Saber says it is aware of players losing their saves, or being unable to connect with their friends. As such, the studio will be increasing the capacity of its servers to reduce the load on them. This is a top priority. A major patch is planned to improve this point.
  • In the next patch, improvements will be made to bots to make them less passive and improve their behavior during boss fights in the campaign. The studio also wants to improve their involvement in specific objectives of the campaign in a future patch.
  • Veteran difficulty will be adjusted in an upcoming patch to be “more fair”. Other difficulties will remain unchanged.
  • The studio is aware that the Assault class is less effective than others in PvE, so it is still collecting data to remedy this.
  • Since the community considers the Block weapon trait to be a bad thing for melee weapons, the studio will make changes in an upcoming patch.
  • Adjustments will be made to make enemies have less health, while still maintaining an engaging difficulty.
  • The studio is considering the possibility of allowing the same class to be chosen in future private PvE lobbies.
  • Each player will receive experience based on their actual involvement in a mission in order to compensate and avoid certain toxic behaviors. Indeed, groups of friends can have fun excluding a stranger during the game to make way for another friend and let him collect the experience
  • Custom PvP lobbies will allow you to, for example, adjust the frag limit or manage class restrictions.
  • The studio will look into the lack of team balancing after several consecutive games.
  • The studio will prevent spawn kill with a protection period upon spawning, like in Gears of War
  • New colors coming in the next big patch
  • Saber doesn’t rule out adding new classes and will keep players updated, although it’s a lot of work.
  • In the future, it will be possible to customize the face of your Marine.
  • Pyreblaster will be added to PvE and PvP
  • The studio does not rule out the possibility of customizing AI allies
  • With the next patch it will be possible to replace an armor profile with a default profile
  • Saber has confirmed that shoulder swapping will not be included, while FOV adjustment may well be coming.
