[Rumeur] First images of the Switch 2 have reportedly leaked from China < News < Nintendo Power

Potentially revealing images of the Nintendo Switch 2 have emerged online in the last few hours. While these leaks don’t yet reveal what Nintendo’s new console will have under the hood, they still seem pretty credible and in line with the many rumors that have been fueling our columns for several months.

Made in China: the first images of the Switch 2

According to the photos, the next console seems very close to the current OLED model of the Switch, with a design that remains largely faithful to its predecessor. The messages give information on the dimensions of the console: 270mm in length and 115mm in height, thickness of 14mm.

The console would have two USB-C ports, and we confirm the magnetic rail for the Joy-Con and the 8-inch screen, therefore wider than the screen of the current Switch without benefiting from OLED display on this first version of the Switch 2.

The main visible change is the slight enlargement of the screen. However, the console would apparently not have analog triggers, a detail that could disappoint some since we had talked about additional triggers under the Joy-Con but suddenly these would not be analog.

The kickstand located at the back, very practical for placing the console and playing with the detached Joy-Con, would also be retained, and would occupy almost the entire width of the console for better stability.

Please note, we remind you that these images are not official and we imagine a Nintendo rather annoyed by the speed of propagation of these visuals. If the design does not mark a revolution, we can hope that Nintendo will impress us with a significant advance in the technical performance of the machine.

On the Resetera forum, user Neoxon also shared details – also unconfirmed – on the console’s internal technical specifications. The Switch 2, in its portable configuration, could surpass the PS4 in power, and in docked mode, would be between the PS4 Pro and the Xbox Series S.

It would benefit from more RAM than the Xbox Series S, with around 10.5 to 11 GB available for games, and would offer UFS 3.1 storage, close in speed to the Xbox Series X/S.

Additionally, compatibility with Nvidia’s DLSS technology would allow the Switch 2 to maximize its performance, despite having less powerful hardware than its direct competitors. On our #Rumors-leaks forum, this compatibility with Nvidia’s DLSS is somewhat compared to a killer feature of Nintendo’s new console.
