Battlefield: New information, images and leaks of the next game surface! | Xbox

It seems that Electronic Arts has decided to start talking more about its next Battlefield. Indeed, after many details about the upcoming game were revealed by Vince Zampella, vice president and general manager of Respawn and Battlefield, the future of the franchise was once again discussed during theInvestor Day from Electronic Arts.

Battlefield returns to compete with Call of Duty: Modern Era, first details and image!

Some reminders on the development of the next Battlefield

We have known this for many months now, but it has been recalled that the next game is produced by 4 studios, namely DICE, Criterion Games, Motive and Ripple Effect, each of which is working on different components. The information from theInvestor Day from Electronic Arts were transcribed by Battlefield Bulletin.

  • DICE: at the head of multiplayer
  • Criterion Games: Leads content and experiences across single-player and multiplayer
  • Motive: working on the single player campaign
  • Ripple Effect: Supports a “new Battlefield experience” that fits into the franchise’s DNA

Electronic Arts explained on stage that this major development is powered by its Battlefield Central Tech team, which is focused on providing these developers with the “technology and tools” to unlock their capabilities.

“We have the biggest, strongest, most focused team in Battlefield history.”

New information and two unpublished images!

Now let’s take a look at what’s new! While it was already confirmed in May that the new Battlefield was already playable internally, we now learn that this has actually been the case for over a year.

“We have been playing the game almost daily for over a year.”

Early next year, it will be players’ turn to get their hands on the game, as Electronic Arts plans to launch a large-scale test with the community “early next year” to gather player feedback on “gameplay, performance, and fun factor.”

To whet our appetites a little, two other concept art pieces have been shared, reminding us once again that the next Battlefield will mark a return to the modern era, like Battlefield 3 and 4.

Finally, Kemal Akay, Lead Technical UI Design, half-confirmed that the scoreboard will indeed be available at launch, unlike Battlefield 2042.

A multiplayer map is set to take place in Gibraltar

Regarding the very first concept art shared earlier this week, a player sought to know the location of the battlefield depicted. With some analysis, he managed to deduce that it is Gibraltar, a territory located in the south of the Iberian Peninsula, bordering the Alboran Sea and the Strait of Gibraltar.

It didn’t take long for this deduction to be confirmed by Tom Henderson, an insider whose legitimacy is no longer in doubt. He even added that the game takes place in 2027! Later in the week, he will make other revelations. He had also stated last February that the experience Ripple Effect is working on is a Battle Royale called “Gauntlet”.

On paper, the next Battlefield looks promising and we hope that Electronic Arts won’t wait too long to reveal more. Between the return of the modern era, more condensed maps, and the absence of specialists, there’s reason to be excited.
