Huawei Announces New Budget Router Supporting Wi-Fi 7

Huawei has announced a new budget router for its home market of China.

Here’s what we know

The model is called Huawei BE7. The novelty received support for the Wi-Fi 7 standard with a theoretical maximum speed of up to 6500 Mbps. The router supports dual-band connection at 2.5 GHz and 5 GHz, as well as dual wireless Wi-Fi. This technology intelligently increases the signal strength for devices over medium to long distances.

Under the hood of the BE7 is a 4K QAM (Quadrature Amplitude Modulation) module that improves data encoding efficiency. The router is also equipped with an ultra-thin antenna similar to that of base stations, six signal amplifiers, and a cooling system. The new product features a Game Turbo Engine mode that reduces lag in games.

The BE7 runs on HarmonyOS 4.0. The router is equipped with 512 MB of RAM and 128 MB of ROM. The novelty supports various network protocols, including 802.3, 802.3u and 802.3ab.

Price and availability date

The Huawei BE7 is already available for pre-order in China at a price of $83. It is not yet known whether the new product will appear on the global market.
