The former model and personality revealed on Monday (January 20 (25)) on Australian morning show “Sunrise” that she was in Australia when she discovered the disaster.

“I lost my house. I haven’t really talked about it. I didn’t want to draw attention to myself. I feel like there are a lot of people who need this attention, so I haven’t really talked about it, but I can’t sit here and not tell the truth: yes, we We lost our home,” Tyra Banks said.

The former host of “America’s Next Top Model” and her companion, businessman Louis Bélanger-Martin, learned the news during an evening with friends and then cried in private.

“We were at friends’ houses, partying and having fun. I kept checking my phone, not for my house, but for my friends and family, to make sure they were evacuating and everything else. Then I asked my companion: “I see something, what do you think?” I pulled myself together, I didn’t say anything to my friends, and then we went home, and we cried,” she continued.

The 51-year-old actress added that she is lucky to have other homes in Australia and New York, so most of the things she is emotionally attached to are safe. Tyra Banks has been living in Sydney as she prepares to open the first permanent store for her ice cream brand Smize & Dream later this year.

Several other celebrities lost their homes (or one of their homes) in the fires, including Patrick Bruel, Laeticia Hallyday, Hilton, Joshua Jackson, Billy Crystal, Adam Brody and Leighton Meester, as well as Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag.

The resumption of violent winds this Monday, January 20 worries firefighters and residents of Los Angeles while the fires are still active.
