The Angliers village hall was crowded with elected officials, representatives of associations and residents for the wishes of the deputy of the 2e Charente-Maritime constituency, Benoît Biteau, Saturday January 18. These were his first since his election, and it was “the first time” that a deputy presented his wishes in the town, proudly announced Didier Taupin, the mayor.
Is it the fact that the councilor is from the Mayors for the Planet association that motivated the environmentalist deputy to choose the town of Angliers to present his wishes? Above all, he justified his choice by arguing that “rural areas are often the forgotten ones”, and by specifying its central geographical location for the guests. He highlighted his challenges on mobility, health, education and the environment, an important issue for tomorrow.
“We have, with Didier Taupin, the same interest in preserving wetlands which are real, necessary carbon captures,” said the MP. He underlined, regarding the management of coastal areas, his desire “that we can accommodate floods without flooding”. “We can no longer back down on environmental issues, no longer sweep dust under the carpet,” he insisted. My commitment during my mandate is to reconcile nature and people, eaters and producers…”
-Permanences
Advocating political stability, he nevertheless argues that “stability must not reduce State allocations, and weaken health, education, businesses…” Putting himself at the service of the territory, the MP specified: “ the residents of the communes of La Laigne and Cram-Chaban can count on me to find their accommodation.” A message received by the few people from these communities present. And despite the remoteness of his constituency, Benoît Biteau had words for the victims of Mayotte.
Finally, the MP invited people wishing to meet him at his parliamentary office at no. 67 avenue La Fayette, in Rochefort or during his rotating offices in municipalities in the constituency (information at town hall).
