In 2024, Apple released two new iPad Airs, with 11-inch and 13-inch screens, which use the M2 chip designed for Macs. And this year, according to the latest newsletter from Mark Gurman, journalist at Bloomberg, the Cupertino company could launch new models. The publication indicates that these new iPad Airs should have the same design as the 2024 models, while offering an improved technical sheet. And among these improvements, there would be a new processor.
Logic would dictate that Apple equips the new iPad Air with an M3 chip. However, Mark Gurman explains that it is possible that Apple will move directly to the M4 chip (the chip that powers the latest iPad Pros and most recent Macs). As usual, caution remains in order. However, if this rumor is correct, the new iPad Airs could have a significant performance gain, compared to the 2024 models.
Important new features are coming
Apple's most important event in 2025 will be the presentation of the iPhone 17 series in September. But, in the meantime, the firm is expected to make other announcements. For example, Mark Gurman talks about new MacBook Airs, which could arrive soon. More precisely, the firm would prepare 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Airs, which would also use the M4 chip. And, of course, there's the new iPhone SE, which is already the subject of many rumors.
This should have a more modern design, unlike the iPhone SE 2022, which inherited the design of the iPhone 8. In addition, the new iPhone SE would have the computing power and RAM memory necessary to support supports Apple Intelligence. On the other hand, Gurman warns that given the significant improvements Apple is offering, it is likely that the price will be higher than that of the iPhone SE 2022 when it is released.
