Friday December 20, 2024, at the Tourtraits residence, his family and Ehapd staff surrounded Serge Boulay to celebrate his 100th birthday. He is the dean of the commune and the residence.

Serge Bisson was born on December 20, 1924, on the La Colombe farm. His 15-year-old mother, Suzanne, lived there with her son and his family, then moved to the fortified farm “Le Tertre” in the heights of Lignières.

Suzanne marries Maurice Boulay, Serge becomes Serge Boulay. The family lives on the farm “La Musse” near Morée: a single large room without running water or electricity and horses, bicycles and walking for means of transport.

Two brothers and a sister expand the family. Serge worked hard on the farm until he was 18. In 1936, he was hired as the first carter on a farm in Rocheux. The money earned goes to his parents, he does not “have not much ».

During the war, he experienced an exodus. A refractory member of the STO, he fled and hid with a family in Rocé.

In 1944, Serge joined the air force in (28), joining Villeneuve-sur-Lot (47). He comes out as a master corporal. Then he worked in a masonry company in Vendôme.

31 years of service

He met Christiane and married her on March 25, 1950. He joined the Ponts et Chaussées. Appointed sector manager in Selommes, he arrived in this town in 1956. Yannick, their only son, was born in December. Serge became a member of the festival committee and treasurer of the football club for more than 25 years. He ended his career at Equipment in 1981 after 31 years of service.

Passionate about long hikes, he created the first GR markings in Vendômois.

Serge and Christiane travel all over . Besides maintaining the house and the vegetable garden, the Vendôme market is the Friday meeting with friends.

Christiane joined Tourtraits in 2009, Serge in 2013. Christiane died in 2015.

Since 2020, Serge has lived in his room in the new residence and receives a lot of visitors. His family grew by two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
