Aspect du packaging : overall, everything was quite similar: a transparent plastic container which allowed you to see the products clearly, and a small label. If Aldi and Lidl relied on a special black holiday label, Colruyt and Delhaize relied on other colors. On the other hand, the Intermarché label was really not attractive.
Product appearance: no bad students for this criterion. The zakouski were quite similar overall, but we found that the ones from Lidl were more visually delicious. For its part, Aldi offered small wafers which gave an original look to this ultimately very common product.
The big brand test: can you dare to buy lobster bisque in a supermarket? Yes, but not just anywhere! (COMPARATIVE)
Nutritional value: Nutri-Score E for everyone except Colruyt, which gets a D.
Label readability: Colruyt does the job very well with a very clear label, and Intermarché does only slightly less well. On the other hand, everyone else fails. It was written too small and/or poorly positioned on the package. Delhaize gets the dunce cap for this criterion.
Taste : we start with Lidl. Although it smelled good, the taste was disappointing because it was very bland. All the zakouski, even if there were different recipes, had more or less the same taste. Not inedible, but too light and bland. It was the same, but worse, at Intermarché… For the rest, the Aldi wafers had a nice texture and a good taste. Fortunately, because the food placed on it didn't taste extraordinary. Finally, Colruyt and Delhaize stood very close. It was much finer and more flavorful, and the puff pastry was very crispy. When choosing, our panel of testers slightly preferred products from Delhaize.
