Notifications from the BBC passed through the Apple Intelligence reel brought misleading information to users, which greatly irritated the British public group.
This Friday, the BBC complained to Apple about the processing of its notifications by artificial intelligence. Users received completely incorrect information, irritating the British media.
Hallucinations in information processing
The Apple Intelligence service was launched last week in the United Kingdom and therefore quickly made headlines, but not in the best way after the complaint from BBC News which considers it to be “the media which arouses the greatest confidence in the world” and who wants the public to have confidence in the articles published by the public group.
But the processing done by Apple Intelligence in this case undermines all this confidence even if the error could be considered minimal by some. In the present case, information on Luigi Mangione, arrested after killing the boss of a health insurance company in the United States, suggested that he had committed suicide.
The BBC has contacted Apple to raise concerns about the use of artificial intelligence for news processing and to try to resolve the issue. To see if Apple Intelligence will continue to hallucinate, present strong or misleading information as a certain fact.
