The video game “Astro Bot” has sold more than 1.5 million copies, according to Sony. It was voted best video game of the year.

THE Game Awards 2024a central annual ceremony in the video game industry, took place Thursday, December 12 evening in Los Angeles (United States).
“Astro Bot“, developed by the Japanese studio Team Asobi, a subsidiary of Sony, won the title of best video game of the year, reports Le Figaro. It also won three other titles: “best family game”, “best direction” and “best action/adventure game”.
On the stage of the Peacock Theater, Frenchman Nicolas Doucet, director of the Japanese studio Team Asobi, thanked his team for its “generosity“. “They are not in the calculation, they are just thinking about the children, because we have the immense privilege of potentially being the first game in their hands“, he announced.
The best rating
“Astro Bot” features the space adventures of a small robot. It has sold more than 1.5 million copies, according to Sony.
With 94 out of 100, this game received the highest score of the year on the review aggregator site Metacritic, tied with “Metaphor: ReFantazio” and “Elden Ring: Shadows of the Erdtree”.
New games were revealed during the Game Awardsincluding “Intergalatic”, by the studio Naughty Dog, director of “The Last of Us”. Josef Fares, the founder of Hazelight Studios, also announced “Split Fiction”, a game between science fiction and fantasy.
