Since 2023, YouTube has offered some games through a dedicated platform… which now hosts multiplayer titles. An intriguing, but limited, new feature, which unfortunately does not (yet?) concern French users.
Have you already heard of YouTube’s Playables platform? No ? It makes sense, it is not available in France. Launched for the first time in September 2023, first in beta, the latter nevertheless has the advantage of offering a selection of games accessible – and playable – directly on YouTube.
In eligible regions, users can also benefit from it on the YouTube application for Android and iOS, but also on the web version of the platform.
In all, YouTube offers around a hundred titles, often minimalist, ranging fromAngry Birds Showdown to games like Trivia Crack or Words Of Wonders.
YouTube Playables is moving to multi-games…
Until now, YouTube’s Playables platform only offered single-player games, but that is about to change. YouTube has indeed announced that it has started offering multiplayer games.
The objective? Allow users to interact with each other and compete against each other, always on YouTube Playables. Initially, YouTube is nevertheless limited to a test phase, and to only two multi titles: Ludo Club et Magic Tiles 3.
« We’re starting to test a new multiplayer feature for a few select games on YouTube Playables. The multiplayer feature on Playables allows you to play in real time with other users », Explains YouTube.
« We are starting our tests with two games: Ludo Club and Magic Tiles 3 on computer and mobile devices. We’re just starting to test these new features for YouTube Playables, so others [jeux] are coming ».
