Founded in 2008 by Éric Carreel, the Withings company – bought by Nokia in 2016 before returning to the control of its founder – has succeeded in establishing itself in the field of medical objects dedicated to well-being and health. It was in 2009 that it launched its first object: a connected scale, which is now available in three versions (Body Scan, Body Comp and Body Smart). It remains its flagship product today.
Then, it expanded its range by adding a blood pressure monitor, a watch, a thermometer, a sleep sensor, a multi-scan and a urine analysis device. The latest: a cellular blood pressure monitor, “BPM Pro 2”, which measures a set of variables (heart rate, blood pressure, etc.) is dedicated to telehealth. It must still be validated by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in the United States and obtain the CE Medical standard in Europe. The United States, France and Germany constitute the three markets in which the company is most present.
