Expected under a completely different name in China, the OnePlus 13R (OnePlus Ace 5 on the Chinese market) saw its technical sheet revealed by a well-known informant, the French OnLeaks. This more accessible model could well appeal to aficionados of the brand, a little cooled by recent rumors suggesting a price increase for the OnePlus 13. After seeing its design, we now have a precise idea of what the OnePlus 13R would have under the hood .
A compact design and an immersive screen
The OnePlus 13R would maintain a reasonable size with dimensions of 161.72 x 75.77 x 8.02 mm and a weight of 206 g, one gram less than its predecessor. In addition to its slight weight loss, it would have a 6.78-inch Amoled screen offering a resolution of 2780 x 1264 pixels and a variable refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. The brightness of the screen would also benefit from an improvement , although the exact value has not yet been communicated.

A promising camera phone with a reliable processor
The device would be armed with a chipset Qualcomm which has proven itself in 2024, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, supported by 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage. This configuration would place the 13R among the best performing phones in its category, even rivaling flagships more expensive. The smartphone would run Android 15 with the recently announced OxygenOS 15 overlay.
The OnePlus 13R would mark a turning point for the series with the introduction of a 50 megapixel (f/2) telephoto lens, a first. The triple dorsal photo module would also be composed of a 50 Mpx main sensor, flanked by wide-angle optics (f/1.8), and an ultra-wide-angle lens (f/2.2). On the front, we would find a 16 Mpx (f/2.4) selfie camera.
One of the most generous batteries
The BBK Electronics brand has also chosen to integrate an XXL 6000 mAh battery, surpassing that of the OnePlus 12R (5500 mAh) which had already shown itself to be particularly durable during our lab test. On the charging side, the device would remain limited to fast charging of 80 W, a lower power compared to the 100 W granted to the model released at the beginning of 2024, but sufficient to recharge the device quickly. Wireless charging, on the other hand, would be absent for subscribers.
WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 compatible, the OnePlus 13R would have everything of a complete and balanced model. Scheduled for a global launch in January 2025, it would be offered in two colors at a price that we hope is just as attractive.
