Gran Turismo 7 – The Alpine circuit finally returns

Launched on the PlayStation 3 generation, the famous mountain circuit named Eiger Nordward is about to return to Gran Turismo 7. The latter will be added for free with the update 1.49 which will be distributed to all players from July 27th. The announcement is a little different than usual. Indeed, Polyphony and Playstation are taking advantage of the GT World Series to release the information. But that’s not all, six new vehicles will also be part of it!

In the Swiss Alps

The North Face of the Eiger (Eiger Nordward), in the Bernese Oberland, is one of the three great north faces of the Alps, along with those of the Matterhorn and the Grandes Jorasses. From the base of the wall to the summit of the Eiger there are 3,970 metres. Its height difference is no less than 1,600 metres. Along with the north faces of the Matterhorn and the Grandes Jorasses, it was one of the “last three problems of the Alps” for mountaineering, and the last to be solved.

6 new racing cars

The developers want to spoil their community and will offer a range of new machines. Here is the list of future drivable vehicles.

  • BMW M3 (E36) 1997
  • Ferrari F430 Scuderia 2007
  • Genesis Gran X Racer Vision Gran Turismo Concept
  • Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 2008
  • Call RGT 4.2 2016
  • Subaru Impreza WRC 1998

It’s still not over. The game will get new rims, a new Michelin tire and the cherry on the cake, a whole new physics! The SOPHY artificial intelligence will be applicable on the following circuits:

  • Nürburgring 24h
  • Autodrome Lago Maggiore – Full Course

So here is the vast majority of what is planned. Note that other new features will most certainly be on the program.

Gran Turismo 7 is available on PS4 and Playstation 5. The title is fully playable through the Playstation VR2. You can find our opinion on this complete immersion just here.
