The Redmi K80 Pro was launched as an affordable flagship phone with the Snapdragon 8 Elite in China, and it is expected to launch outside the Chinese market as the Poco F7 Ultra. Before Xiaomi announced the international launch, Giztop made it available in all regions.
Of course there is a problem. It is available on the third-party store through import. As with any other Chinese smartphone sold by Giztop, you will get the Redmi K80 Pro with Chinese firmware. The good thing is that Xiaomi HyperOS supports English, and the store says the device will come with Google Mobile Service pre-installed.
However, some features that work on global variants, such as Android Auto, may not be accessible out of the box. You should also consider which network bands the Redmi K80 Pro is compatible with, as not all Chinese variants are known for their wide compatibility. The good thing about this phone is that Xiaomi has confirmed that it supports 19 5G frequency bands.
Warranty is another important thing to consider. Even though Giztop seems to have a decent policy in this regard, if anything comes up over the phone you’ll have to send it to them. Compared to the warranty of a smartphone officially available in your region, this is an extra step.
Other than that, Giztop’s pricing for the Redmi K80 Pro is attractive, especially considering it’s a flagship phone with a Snapdragon 8 Elite. The base configuration with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage costs $599. This same configuration of the smartphone was launched at CNY 3,699 (around $510) in China.
