Arcane is not the only high-quality animated series on Netflix. This is the case of the one which has just arrived on the platform, its dramatic sci-fi plot is rich and we want to learn more.
Current issue
It's been a while since Netflix understood the unifying potential of animated series: we can cite in particular Cyberpunk Edgerunners, Bojack Horseman, Love Death & Robots or obviously Arcane. The platform recently undertook a new partnership with CD Projekt for a new Cyberpunk 2077 series. In the meantime, a little nugget of dramatic sci-fi has just landed on Netlfix: Pantheon. In the same way asArcanethis series receives an excellent rating of 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. The series was also produced in part by Chris Prynoski, who worked on Her (for special effects), Big Mouth, Love Death & Robots or even The Boys present: Les Diaboliques (as producer).

Originally, Pantheon was broadcast on the American platform AMC+. In early 2023, the broadcast of the series was canceled for reasons of cost reduction. However, at that time, the second season was already ready. Creig Silverstein, its creator, managed to obtain a broadcast of both seasons on Prime Video. Today, you can see it on Netflix.
A distressing future
Humanity is at a turning point: artificial intelligence is becoming more and more efficient, more and more enterprisingand that scares more than one person. Pantheon is a series that talks about this kind of problem. The viewer follows three characters immersed in the near future. First Maddie, a young girl bullied at school, who has just lost her father. Caspian, a computer hacker determined to penetrate behind the scenes of Uploaded Intelligence, a technology that allows us to digitalize human consciousness. And finally, Chanda, a visionary engineer capable of anticipating the next major trends in science.
The anticipation series, adapted from the book by Ken Liu, addresses two strong themes. On the one hand, that of the family, notably with Maddie who connects online with her father's consciousness to play a video game with him. On the other hand, the overall theme of telecommunications and networks. In this regard, spectators notice a good level of realism with regard to the hardware operation of a server, or online communications. That is to say that the series does not take shortcuts and use technical terms to talk about things like using a phone's vibration motor to make it move in one direction, or a cloning system.
