Black Friday is fast approaching. This is why the Epic Games Store has decided to offer another game for free, announcing its intention to do so last week. As a reminder, the store recently offered the game Beholderwhich has encountered playability issues among some owners.
This time around, Epic Games has only included Brotato in its latest offering, which will increase to $0.00 at 4:00 p.m. UTC today. As a reminder, developer and publisher Blobfish Games describes Brotato as a roguelite-style arena shooter with the following narration:
A spaceship from Potato World crashes on an alien planet. Sole survivor: Brotato, the only potato capable of wielding 6 weapons at the same time. While waiting to be rescued by his companions, Brotato must survive in this hostile environment.
In short, Brotato should work on just about any PC capable of running Windows 10 and beyond. According to Blobfish Games, the game requires 4 GB of RAM, 200 MB of storage and a GPU supporting at least OpenGL 3 and having 128 MB of VRAM. Apparently almost any processor can be used; Blobfish Games describes a “2 GHz” processor as being required.
Furthermore, while Brotato Typically costing just $4.99, it has an “overwhelmingly positive” rating from over 80,000 reviews on Steam. Likewise, critics and players give the game a high rating on Metacritic. Please note that Brotato can be kept in your Epic Games library indefinitely, but only if you download it before December 5th at 4:00 p.m. UTC.
