The Vuzix Z100 smart glasses are now on sale in several regions around the world. These glasses were first launched for developers and businesses. Now anyone can buy these smart glasses, which offer a heads-up display with features like viewing your running pace or turn-by-turn directions.

Vuzix now sells its Z100 smart glasses directly to consumers worldwide. A developer edition of these glasses was announced in January. The glasses were marketed to businesses as a way to offer their employees artificial intelligence to improve their workflow.

Z100 smart glasses are available with clear or tinted lenses and can be prescribed. They feature a transparent waveguide display, which allows you to view information such as progress towards your fitness goals, running pace, turn-by-turn directions from Google Maps (Android only) and notifications. With Bluetooth connectivity, you can wirelessly pair the glasses to various iOS and Android smartphones. You can use the Vuzix Connect app to configure the gadget and access other functions like text translation. Additionally, the wearable device can work for up to 48 hours between charges, and the company describes the glasses as comfortable and ultra-light, weighing in at 38g (~0.06 lb).

It’s worth noting that the glasses don’t appear to have a built-in camera or artificial intelligence assistant. You can now purchase the clear and tinted versions of Vuzix Smart Glasses for $499.99/£410.00/€485.00. For comparison, the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses retail for $329, although they are currently available for $264.20 on Amazon during a Black Friday sale.
