Oppo released the Pad 3 Pro in October this year, and now it has introduced the non-Pro variant of the Android tablet. The highlight of this new device is the Dimensity 8350, a new mid-range SoC from MediaTek that features an octa-core CPU configuration and a Mali-G615 MC6 GPU.
Although Oppo has yet to comment on the performance of the Dimensity 8350, a recent Geekbench listing of the Pad 3 suggests that the 8350 SoC is the most powerful in its class in the new tablet, this MediaTek SoC is paired with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage space.
In addition to the new MediaTek SoC, Oppo highlights that the Pad 3 has a 2.8K “soft light” display that aims to provide a comfortable viewing experience. This screen supports stylus, and the Android tablet is said to offer a true pen and paper writing experience.
The 11.61-inch LCD screen has a peak brightness of 700 nits and supports a refresh rate of 144 Hz, enabling it to deliver smooth images. The internals are powered by a 9,520 mAh battery, slightly larger than that of the Pad 3 Pro. However, it retains the same 67W fast charging support (Anker Prime 67W costs $35.99 on Amazon).
Although the Oppo Pad 3 is an affordable Android tablet, it seems to have a premium build. With a metal back, the device measures 6.29mm thick and weighs 536 grams, making it easy to carry.
Speaking of which, the Pad 3 was launched at a starting price of CNY 2,099 for the 8/128 GB configuration (around $290). The most powerful variant costs CNY 3,099 (around $427). Oppo is yet to share its global launch plans, but the Android tablet could be rebranded as the OnePlus Pad 2 Go ahead.
