Well-made screen, good performance, generous battery life… The Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 5G combines the advantages, so much so that you could almost take it for a high-end smartphone. However, it is currently displayed at 201.99 euros instead of 299.99 euros at Amazon during Black Week.
It was at the start of the year that Xiaomi announced the arrival of five new references in its range of affordable Redmi smartphones. One of the most recommended? The Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 5G, which offers, for a fairly low price, features that we are more used to seeing on much more expensive premium models. And during Black Week, it's even cheaper than usual thanks to a reduction of 100 euros.

A beautiful, smooth screen
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 5G is certainly an entry-level smartphone, but it still has a particularly neat design, with flat edges and rounded corners which obviously remind us of current iPhones. The rear surface is smooth, but a little slippery, and the photo module is integrated into a small block, unlike the 4G version whose three sensors and the flash are discreetly integrated into the shell, which is still a little more elegant. In any case, the whole thing benefits from a quality design, and even an IP54 certification: it is therefore resistant to dust and splashing water.
The smartphone scores points above all with its screen. The latter features a 6.67-inch Full HD+ (2,400 x 1,080 pixels) AMOLED panel, which also benefits from a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. A significant bonus, and rather rare in this price range, and which above all promises exemplary fluidity. The color spaces are also very well handled and the brightness can reach 1200 cd/m².
Good performance for daily use
In the bowels of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 5G, we find not a Snapdragon 685 processor like on the 4G version, but a Dimensity 6080 from MediaTek, 5G compatible, here associated with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. This chip should ensure sufficiently smooth navigation, despite some slowdowns. Don't expect to be able to run 3D games in the best conditions either, as the Redmi Note 13 5G is not intended to be a very fast gaming smartphone. But don't forget that the Redmi Note 13 was entitled to the little boost offered by HyperOS 1.5, an update which promises increased system fluidity and much faster opening of applications. It's rather reassuring.
On the photo side, Xiaomi has opted for a 108 Mpx main sensor, an 8 Mpx ultra wide-angle and a 2 Mpx macro sensor. The main sensor captures quite beautiful shots, with good contrast and fairly well-managed brightness, but you have to deal with a big lack of detail and precision. For social networks, this will be more than enough. The 108 Mpx mode at least allows you to gain a little detail. Finally, in terms of autonomy, the smartphone contains a 5,000 mAh battery, which allows it to be used all day, even under heavy load. The 33W fast charger recovers 30% battery in 15 minutes.
