Microsoft releases Windows 11 build 27754, what’s new?

Microsoft has released build 27754 of Windows 11 through the Windows Insider program’s Canary channel. This update comes with several things including fixes and new features focused on security and productivity. Here are the most notable facts.

Microsoft is making changes to Windows Hello through a redesigned interface. It is supposed to provide a smoother authentication experience. To do this, it aligns with the visual codes of Windows 11 while simplifying access to access keys and other identification flows, such as those of the Microsoft Store.

The new visuals and icons are intended to be more intuitive, integrating more naturally into the login screen and related interfaces. A new access key management experience is also introduced, making it easier to switch between authentication options, while increasing security.

Note that this experience will also apply to the new administrator protection feature coming to Windows 11 24H2.

This release features adjustments to the appearance and behavior of app previews in the taskbar. Animations have been reworked to respond to user feedback.

A simplified system tray is also tested. It shows an abbreviated date and time, without a notification icon. However, users can return to classic formats via the settings.

Among the fixes made, Microsoft reports the resolution of duplication issues in the Start menu, anomalies in RAW image thumbnails, as well as malfunctions affecting the mouse in multi-screen games. The search box in File Explorer has also been stabilized.

Additionally, fixes target crashes related to certain remoting applications and errors when running the *sfc /scannow* command.

Be careful, this new build of Windows 11 is not perfect. She is the victim of various problems Microsoft is investigating malfunctions affecting window borders and disabled animations. It is also possible to encounter difficulties when installing the latest builds, or display problems on several screens. A specific note warns PC Copilot+ users of an issue with loss of Windows Hello data when changing channels.
