The year is slowly coming to an end. Before you let yourself enjoy the end-of-year holidays, the video game industry still has one last trick up its sleeve. Indeed, like every year, the Game Awards 2024 ceremony will soon be in full swing. As a reminder, the latter offers two things. First of all, it will award awards across the video game sphere on dozens of different themes, but also lift the veil on future projects or even give us highly anticipated release dates. To put it simply, it has become an unmissable event if you like video games in any way. At the top of all this is obviously the prize of the prize, namely the game of the year (Baldur’s Gate 3 last year).
The Game Awards 2024 take place at night
This is not news, the Game Awards ceremony always takes place at night for us. This year, the show will take place on the night of December 12 to 13, 2024 and will begin at 1:30 a.m.. Like every year, the duration is not really known. In any case, allow three hours of time so as not to miss anything.

The nominees revealed on Monday November 18

Premier drama
The video game industry has unfortunately become a place where drama is rife. The Game Awards 2024 ceremony has just suffered its first blow. Indeed, the organization has decided to clarify certain things regarding nominations. According to the latter, even a DLC can be placed in a category, even in that of “game of the year”.
Obviously, everyone has the right to have their opinion on the matter. For our part, we remain neutral, it is the organization’s choice.
“The Game Awards aim to recognize the best creative and technical work each year, regardless of the format of that content’s release. Expansion packs, new game seasons, DLC, remakes and remasters are eligible in all categories, if the jury judges the new creative and technical work to be worthy of nomination. Factors such as the novelty of the content and its price/value should be considered.“
