Year after year, Samsung seems to advance its smartphone release schedule. After abandoning the traditional month of February of the MWC to launch its main range in January, the manufacturer could go even further by bringing forward the release of its Galaxy S25 to the very beginning of the month of 2025.

According to a certain IMEI Pham on X (Twitter), Samsung Vietnam sent a survey to some consumers. It is specified that completing the survey grants a 10% reduction voucher applicable from January 5, 2025 on products from the Galaxy S range. Some users on social networks and certain media have concluded that the Galaxy S25 will therefore be released on this date.

What release date for the Galaxy S25?

Checking which day January 5, 2025 falls on, we see that it is a Sunday. It is highly unlikely that Samsung will launch its new flagships on such a day. One possibility would be that the manufacturer presents its smartphones before, during a Galaxy Unpacked conference, and that pre-orders are open on January 5. But we don’t see Samsung choosing January 5 for an announcement or for an official release.

According to market observers, Samsung has chosen to bring forward the availability of its devices to take advantage of the Chinese New Year, scheduled for January 29, 2025. Given that consumers tend to anticipate gifts, the South Korean brand would thus give itself margin to hope to sell models on this occasion. Last summer, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 had their release brought forward by a few weeks to benefit from the exposure granted by the Olympic Games.

Furthermore, a benchmark of what appeared to be a European Galaxy S25+ suggested that the smartphone would be equipped with an Exynos 2500 chip. The leaker Ice Universe assures that the European S25 and S25+ models will indeed feature a Snapdragon 8 Elite, the latest Qualcomm SoC promising impressive performance.
