The 2022 Galaxy be purchased at a price of ~$600 (although it is possible to get it for $299.99 in renewed condition right now) on Amazon today (November 11, 2024).
That’s because it’s one of a small handful of Samsung smartphones with a rugged display (MIL-STD-810H and IP68) that can, in addition, be removed to access their interchangeable batteries.
It looks like things won’t change with the new generation of XCover back covers as the battery is indeed the only part of the phone that has been leaked so far. The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) may have revealed its existence by certifying such a product with the new model number EB-BG766GBY.
This implies that the device it’s built into is called Samsung SM-G766B, leading to speculation that it will launch as the Galaxy XCover8 Pro.
The XCover7 is the SM-G556B while the XCover6 Pro is the SM-G736B. As a result, it looks like Samsung will have a new pro-grade rugged phone to announce soon.
