Wayne Enterprises (yes – the company really is called that) is building Batman’s “Tumbler” with a Chevy V8 engine in a limited edition of ten.

This is a call to reclusive billionaires with a secret superhero identity! Now you can move like the mysterious masked vigilante: Wayne Enterprises offers a limited series of faithful, road-ready reproductions of the legendary Batmobile “Tumbler” from the trilogy Dark Knight de Christopher Nolan.

Yes, yes – you read correctly: Wayne Enterprises is a real company. Or, let’s say it, Warner Bros. has partnered with public relations firm Relevance International to offer luxury products under the banner of fictional billionaire Bruce Wayne’s conglomerate. Their latest offering: the Batmobile. And not just any Batmobile, but the most dystopian of all versions: the “Tumbler” of the trilogy Dark Knight. This version actually drives well, and even has air conditioning.
Only ten examples will be produced by the Californian automobile factory Action Vehicle Engineering. And the cost is just as spectacular as the car:2.99 million dollars (2.6 million francs).
We don’t know if the options are included at this price.Image: brucewaynex.com
If in the films, the Tumbler is powered by a jet turbine, the road vehicle is powered by Chevrolet’s 6.2-liter LS3 engine, 525 horsepower. This impressive power is necessary because the vehicle weighs a good 2.5 tonnes. Even though there are carbon, fiberglass and Kevlar components, it’s heavy.
To really be able to imagine yourself on the streets of Gotham City, the “real” Batmobile is equipped with mini-cannons reproduced in the smallest details, a simulated jet engine and a smoke evacuation system. The interior (of which there are no illustrations yet) should also match the Batmobile from the films exactly (except for the recumbent ride).
How much do we bet we’ll see the first model in Dubai?Image: brucewaynex.com
With its $3 million price tag and predetermined rarity, the Tumbler is truly a specialty hypercar. It therefore finds itself in competition with the Aston Martin Valkyrie and vehicles produced in similar limited series. We just have to hope that at least one of Batman’s super-rich fans will release their Tumbler every now and then so that ordinary mortals can enjoy it too.
